The fact is that while anyone can claim that electronic cigarettes are healthier and cheaper that does not make this claim any more true than claiming drums can be played without drum sticks.

Are Electronic Cigarettes Safer Than Smoking?
To answer this question we have to look at the two main reasons that smoking is bad for you in the first place. The first reason that smoking is bad for you is that it contains an addictive chemical called nicotine. Nicotine is a stimulant that cause the heart to beat faster and when too much nicotine is absorbed into the body it can cause stomach pains as well.
The second reason that smoking is bad for you is that you are inhaling carcinogenic smoke and even without the nicotine and other chemicals in tobacco smoke you are still breathing in carbon monoxide directly into your lungs and repeated exposure to carbon monoxide causes carbon monoxide poisoning. Over time this consistent exposure to carbon monoxide cause harm to the lungs and the rest of the body.
Now that we know why smoking is bad for you, the question comes down to which of these two factors is actually the more harmful. The truth is that while nicotine is definitely not a healthy thing for the body, that unless you are constantly reaching high levels of toxicity with nicotine its effects on the body are less harmful than the effects of carbon monoxide.
This is in no way saying nicotine is good for you, it’s not, but out of the two things that make smoking bad for you it is the least harmful one.
Electronic Cigarettes Are Healthier
So, it appears that simply by taking away one of the harmful aspects of smoking we actually arrive at the answer that yes, electronic cigarettes are safer than smoking. This is not to say that they are good for you, or that you shouldn’t quit smoking period, but it does mean that they can help you prevent some of the health problems that are caused by smoking.
In the end the best way to avoid the harmful effects of smoking is to never start in the first place. In a perfect world this option works for everyone, but in the real world people will continue to start smoking and realize several years later that they desperately want to quit but can’t.
While quitting smoking is the best way to prevent future health problems, using a smoking alternative such as electronic cigarettes is better than continuing to smoke.
